Welcome to our how to page, here is an overview of how our USBStickfinder subscription system operates.

Using our subscription service.

As a registered user of our system you are assigned a unique subscriber USBStickfinder ID.

This ID is encoded into a standard format file called USBStickfinder.htm that is recognised by most computer operating systems as a web format file.

We send you a unique USBStickfinder.htm file directly to your registered e-mail address. Here is how your e-mail may look.

When you receive your e-mail detatch the USBStickfinder.htm file and copy it to the root or base directory of your USB memory stick. This is how you detatch your file and save it to your USB memory device.

For the USBStickfinder system to work and for identification of a recovered devices owner you must;

Basic subscription recovery service.

When your USB memory stick or MP3 player is found, for Basic subscribers the finder is directed to our Found it! page and requested to plug the USB stick into a computer. This directs the finder to select the USBStickfinder.htm file located in the root directory of the USB memory stick which directs them to our reporting page.

Our system will send you a Private Message from USBStickfinder of any reports made, and you will be notified immediately at your reistered e-mail address.which you can read by logging on. The message will contain the finders contact details entered.

You can then arrange a means of return your USB memory stick.

Extended subscription recovery service.

For Extended subscribers when your device is recovered the finder simply posts the device back to us through our FREEPOST recovery service. Alternatively the same return method as a basic subscriber could be used depending on the finder.

Upon receipt of the device we return the device directly to the subscriber at the registered address.
